The rain felt amazing, washing, running down her skin, soaking her to the bone, whisking away her sins. The Spartan woman sighed in relief, she felt so much cleaner. She had decided to take a reprive to Athens, trying to blend in and keep from being noticed as a Spartan, simply to get away from all the prying questions of where she had been and to protect herself from that insane Persian boy-lover. She had become rather used to the belly-dancing outfit Xerxes had appointed she wear, but now she wore something a Spartan woman would always wear, a white dress that hung off her shoulders and exposed most of her sides, held around the top of her hips by a leather tie.
The rain ran off her exposed skin and her shoulders, the cold feeling amazing on her overheated body, and she tilted her head to the heavens to let it consume her being. A soft moan of relief before she walked to mount her horse once more.

It was raining and Jason was not too pleased with the gods. He was on horseback, bringing tools back to the smithy where he worked. He'd traded with Thebians for thicker iron. Cursing the unfortunate weather, he squinted out over the river and hoped it wouldn't flood. Then he noticed the woman. She was stunning, dressed in white, head tilted back in what seemed like ecstasy. Was she a goddess? Or simply trapped? She had a horse, but how could a husband let his wife out like this? Alone!
He slowed his horse and before it'd even stopped, the Athenian jumped down, mud splattering his sandals-to which he muttered, Hermes be damned, and called out to her as she reached her horse, "Miss! Miss, are you well? Do you need an escort?"

"Miss! Miss, are you well? Do you need an escort?"
Demetra's head turned to look at the man, reaching to her hip where a dagger rested protectively. Blue eyes looked the man over from beneath a curtain of raven locks, plastered to her face from the downpour. He was handsome, but no, he was an Athenian, her father would never approve. She took a deep breath, considering her thoughts before replying. "No sir, I am well. Just enjoying the rain, a usual habit. And I can protect myself rather well, but I appreciate the concern."
((short, sorry))

When she turned her head towards him, Jason was short of breath. Her eyes seemed bright like gems with that dark hair, and he stopped where he stood, feeling as shy as a lad half his age. Her refusal disappointed him, though he didn't want to let it show.
"As you wish," was his response, with a deep bow to her. But her accent sort of caught him off guard. It sounded a little different than the Athenian tongue. "Forgive me for asking," he said apologetically, "I cannot place your face. Are you from Athens? I do think I would remember you."

"I cannot place your face. Are you from Athens? I do think I would remember you."
Demetra sighed, hoping the man would be friendly. "No, sir, I am not. Forgive me, I am taking a short holiday. My name is Demetra, I am a Priestess of Sparta." She said softly, hoping the man would not question her on the reason of her holiday, she did not like sharing the fact that she had been ubducted openly.

"Priestess?" Aha. She was uncommonly pretty, and Jason pitied the thought of her being a priestess-what with their vows of chastity. "It's an honor then, Milady Demetra. I am Jason." And a Spartan, no less. While Jason was not incredibly fond of the Spartans, this woman was gorgeous.
He would have asked what a priestess on holiday might be doing, but elected not to be nosy. "I do hope you enjoy yourself. If you need anything while you are in Athens, please don't hesitate to call on me."

Demetra smiled, bowing slightly to the man. "Actually, I could use a hand. Could you, perhaps, show me around. You see, I am not farmiliar with this place, of course." She said with another brilliant smile.
((Sorry, bad post))

The smile was enough for Jason; if she'd have said she wanted the moon, he would have been inclined to agree. As it was, the Athenian raised an eyebrow and nodded once, indicating he was willing to hear what she had to say.
And he couldn't have asked for a better opportunity.
"I would be honored," Jason replied with a smile, "to show of Sparta's beloved priestesses around my lady Athena's city. Perhaps...I can persuade you to look upon Athens as favorably as Sparta." He knew well what most Spartans thought of Athens, but he did wish to show her the more refined Greek aspects. "Are you quite hungry? Have you seen the theater?" Might as well ask.

I doubt it. She thought but did not say it, simply smiled brightly and nodded her thanks, hair flipping slightly as she did.
"Are you quite hungry? Have you seen the theater?"
She shook her head. "No, I'm not very hungry, but the theater would be nice." She said with another small smile, enjoying how it affected the man. She took her horse's reins to lead him to a stable while he showed her about.
