Xerxes was alone.
One of the few times he actually freed himself from the entanglements of his enormous entourage. The sea was smothered with Persian ships, and in the distance he could hear the clink of armor, the roar of Asian beasts, heavily sedated by their trainers. But in this stretch of coastline, he found himself alone, without escort.
The king walked the coast, bronzed feet sinking into wet sand with his bold footsteps, gold chains clinking together in the Meditteranean salt air. Fists clenched at his sides, muscles taut, the enormous man paced the shore.
And thought.
He was going to crush Greece. In all her arrogance, in all her defiance, he could not understand, could not wrap his mind around, the stubbornness of the Spartans - and the Athenians, though he was not so worried about them. They would fold. They were not warriors.
There was no way the Spartans could win. He overmatched them in troops, equipment, strategy, and sheer will. It was madness to go up against a god, surely history had taught them that. But their unwavering confidence was...unsettling.
Xerxes did not like unsettling.
"Fools," he cursed to himself, dark eyes fixated on the sand before him. Leonidas was the key. If he could break their king, the Spartans would not continue. Surely that would shatter their spirit. It was certainly something to think about.

Savarak was making his way down the rocky cliffs onto the sandy beach. He had been wanting to visit sparta but the recent war made it difficult and Savarak ended up getting bored along the way and for conditioning he climbed to the top of the cliff and now down. He made his way to the beach and looked over to see a large man which he knew too well but could care less for.
Walking down the beach he spoke "I am sorry was I interuppting something?" Savarak spoke in a fiery and fierce tone. Savarak stood strong with his shield and sword tied to his back waiting for Xerxes ti turn and face him. Savarak did not want a fight but he did wish to speak.

"I am sorry was I interuppting something?"
The godking stiffened and ceased walking. Overwhelming anger struck - anger at himself, and at the stranger who dared speak. If only because he hadn't heard the man approach and Xerxes hated surprises. Hated them.
Xerxes turned slowly around, crossing his enormous arms over his chest and glaring at the stranger. It took a good few seconds to assess the danger-the man looked to be strong, a fighter, with sword and shield. But he was not wearing Spartan colors, nor that of Athens. His accent seemed Greek though. Hmm.
"Yes, but that is neither here nor there," Xerxes dismissed suspiciously. "Who are you, and what business do you have here?"

Savarak peered motionless with a fiery and prideful stare of a warrior. "My name is Savarak and I have come to visit Sparta but it appears there are events taken place which I could not believe until I reached here. The greatest military nation Sparta and the cultural based society of Athens joined together to fight the over rated Persians."
Savarak stood with his hands loose at his side ready to draw his sword and shield with great speed if needed and yet he retained a calm and fearless persona. His gaze shifted don't at the sand as he spoke in a calm but deep tone "I don't know much about him but from what I have heard Leonidas happens to be a decent king in my eyes. One of the few kings that will lead his army instead of hiding behind it."
Savaraks eyes shifted directly at Xerxes and commented "Imagine a king who fights his own battles. Wouldn't that be a sight?" Savarak made his last comment than waited for Xerxes to react "Perhaps when you win a battle you can expect a war victory but it seems even holding the largest army in the world you cannot win but one battle against a small group of men. Oh what a site to see yes."

Xerxes' was both irritated and surprised. The arrogance of the Greeks knew no bounds, though why some fool would seek to directly blame him for travel difficullties? Xerxes gave a slight nod at Savarak's words. Leonidas was a good king. Impressive. Xerxes would regret having to kill such a fascinating creature. Though he didn't appreciate the insult.
"Why should I fight my own battles, when I have those to do it for me?" Xerxes replied mildly, giving a broad smile to the Greek. "I am a practical god, and who are you to claim I have not won a battle?"
Xerxes laughed!
"Are you blind?" The king asked abruptly, "Do you not see the vast Persian empire? Do you not see my army which spans over this entire continent? Who claims I have not won against Leonidas? The battle is not over."
He was enraged, and his fists nearly trembled with the effort. But he stayed calm - in tone.
Xerxes gave a wry smile, sizing up the man. "I don't believe I've seen you in the Greek ranks. I will not ask you again, what business do you have here? For unless you are to offer me something, I see no reason why I should waste my time with a Greek, above all, one so stupid as to insult a king in his territory. You speak boldly, but only because I am unarmed and my camp is some leagues away. I am busy. Tell me what you have to say - make it useful, I recommend - or test my wrath. Either way, I wager you a hotheaded fool."

"A god you say? Proven when? Any tyrant can force his slaves to do as he wishes even kill themselves at a single command but I have yet to see any proof of your godhood. Fear, Forced control, Slaved citizens, and little mercy are your qualities, they are also a quality of a tyrant."
"Are you blind?" The king asked abruptly, "Do you not see the vast Persian empire? Do you not see my army which spans over this entire continent? Who claims I have not won against Leonidas? The battle is not over."
Savarak gave a small disapproving shake of his head and spoke in a sarcastic manner "Forgive me for my mistake, I must not have been correct by seeing you hiding so far behind while your soldiers fought the battles." Savaraks tone shifted to a serious and abrupt tone "I see the Persian armies spreak out all through this continent and I have witnessed your soldiers battles but one thing I have yet to see is you live up to your title just as a leader let alone a god."

"I speak so bold becuase you are unarmed and leagues away from your camp?" Savarak repeated in a questioning mannor. His tone shifted into a dead seriousness "The only reason you still draw breath is for that very reason, Why kill you here when there is noone to see it?"
Savarak turned to the direction of sparta and spoke "Kings have layed thier gold, women, and pride at my feet to have me fight but one of thier battles. Such things are of no importance to me, I just want what any man desires that is all. I wish not to be forgotten over the years, I wish not to have my name wiped clean from history, I will not be forgotten. And you, you are my key one way or another to achieving this. I want you to stop your assualts for a day so I can pass and meet with the spartans to discuss some things."
