The oracle had spoken, Leonidas knew his fate. Despite the fact he knew he was marching to certain death, he was till motivated to go. He had to, it was his duty as Sparta's king. He would not disrupt any family lines, no, he had to take only those that had passed their lines on through sons. He would march Sparta's fathers to meet the Persians when they came.
It was about midday, the sun was high and hot, he was alone in his palace and before him was parchment and ink. He was writing the Royal edict that all men fit for combat and with a son must report to the palace. Glory was in mind, but the defense of Sparta was also there. He knew it was likely he would not see his son again. It was only a matter of time that the Persians would march. When they did, he would be ready to act.
Once he was finished he walked out to the forum and posted a message.
The message read.

It had been 3 sunrises since the message arrived to Stelios'es thatched home, his beloved wife showed it him and he raised his brow at first, for an instant before deciding to join the rest of those Spartans with heirs at the palace. It had been a short walk in terms of the distances he was used to travelling, letting the sun warm his body his helmet under his arm, his cloak dragging across the floor behind him blood red it was in the light, and yet it still shone that magnificent color in the dark, much to the dismay of those foolish enough to fight one Spartan.
Walking through the many pillared palace Stelios reached the meeting, he was at first saddened at missing the , "earth digging" of the foolish messenger, though he heard stories and was surprised the Spartan king didn't send back the heads of the insolent fools with earth and water in their mouths as an insult to the boy lover Xerces, this was probably a ploy to ready the army in time to beast back the horrid Persians, he looked forward to meeting those famed immortals, maybe they would give him arm a good work out, thats if they lived up to their name, because in his experience most things never did.
He fell into line with the rest of the Spartan horde, they roared as one the word awhom echoed through the palace.
