Xerxes is a bisexual megalomaniac who believes himself a god. He is arrogant, sadistic, and angry. He has an infamous temper and never forgives. Xerxes is selfish and greedy, and cares for nothing other than himself. He forces all those under his power to admit submission, and enjoys lavish entertainments and wearing a lot of gold. Power is the only thing he wants, and he will crush anyone in his way. He hates defiance, and isn't used to it. He thinks he is indestructible.

Xerxes, son of Darius the Great and Atossa, the daughter of Cyrus the Great, was appointed King of Persia by his father because his elder half-brothers, who were born before Darius had become king, died. He suppressed revolts in Babylon and Egypt, and upon insuring his empire was settled - elected to invade Greece to revenge himself for the Persian defeat at Marathon and various revolts.
Having conquered the smaller citystates, Xerxes is determined to have the submission of Athens and Sparta, and has dispensed messengers to demand "earth and water" from the two citystates. He is the head of an enormous Persian army, several hundreds of thousands of men, and is confident in his success.
