History: Leonidas was born to King Anaxandridas II of Sparta, being royal from birth. He was a strong young man and when he entered Krypteia, that grueling period for all spartan boys where he was forced to steal but not get caught, live on his own and fight his way through life, he excelled. When he was 10 and three years into Krypteia, he was confronted by a monstrous wolf with eyes that glowed like hades. He only experienced heightened senses and slew the wolf with two thrusts. When he completed Krypteia he was welcomed back into the city as a hero. He lived under the rule of his half-brother Cleomenes I of Sparta until Cleomenes I died. Upon this moment he married his half-brother's daughter Gorgo and was declared King of Sparta in 489 BC. Thusly he has ruled Sparta for 9 years, years of peace and prosperity.
Family: Leonidas is the 17th King of the Agiad line of Spartan Kings. As a Spartan, he claims descent from Heracles (Hercules). He is married to his Half-brother's daughter Gorgo (Half-niece?) and has but one son, Pleistarchus who is still only a small boy.
